Terms

Terms, in plain language.

Hex codes are open data. Editorial copy is reusable non-commercially with attribution. The rest of the page is the detail behind those two sentences.

Using the hex codes

Every hex code on ColorPaletteHub is open data. Copy them, use them, recombine them — for commercial work, personal projects, experiments, anywhere. No attribution required for hex values themselves.

Using the editorial copy

The editorial copy — palette descriptions, anchor names, colour meanings, FAQs — is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0). You can quote, excerpt, and adapt it for non-commercial use, with attribution to ColorPaletteHub and a link back to the source page.

For commercial re-use (a book, a training course, a publication you sell), email press@colorpalettehub.com. We're usually happy to grant a licence — we just want to know about it.

Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Scrape the site in a way that imposes a disproportionate load. Polite crawling is welcome.
  • Republish the editorial copy in bulk without permission, commercially or otherwise.
  • Misrepresent ColorPaletteHub content as your own original research.
  • Use the site to host, distribute, or link to malicious code, spam, or content that violates applicable law.

No warranties

We work hard on accuracy, but the site is provided “as is”. We don't warrant that every hex is pixel-perfect for every printing profile, that contrast results are sufficient for every assistive technology, or that the editorial judgements will age well. If your work depends on a specific colour value being exact, verify it against your own production environment.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, ColorPaletteHub and its editors are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site. That includes loss of data, lost profits, and damages arising from third-party content.

Linking out

We link to external sites in passing — references, sources, related work. Those sites are not under our control, and the presence of a link does not imply endorsement or partnership.

Changes to these terms

We update these terms when the site changes meaningfully — new tools, new content categories, new licensing options. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Substantive updates will be flagged at the bottom of the page for at least 90 days.
